OWNER TESTIMONIALS – NOTES & LETTERS FROM OUR AUSTRALIAN LABRADOODLE PUPPY FAMILIES

Below are just a few comments from some of our Australian Labradoodle puppy owners through the years. Owner testimonials are reassuring.  Reading feedback about an Australian Labradoodle breeder is reasuring to many families, however, we’d like to recommend that not only do you consider comments/references from breeders, but also seek unbiased feedback from other sources. There are a few fantastic Doodle Forums online where hundreds of owners frequent. If you post asking about a particular Australian Labradoodle breeder, you are sure to get feedback that is not controlled by the breeder, which can help you in your consideration of where to adopt from.

Wanted to send you a quick update on Hope. She is totally amazing!  She is such a love, and our entire family adores her. She is the most friendly and outgoing puppy, the entire neighborhood knows her and loves her as well.  She has more friends than I do, and I often feel like I am with a movie star when I walk around with her because I can’t get anywhere without tons of people stopping me to meet Hope and say hi. She is just perfect, and we can’t thank you enough!!!  She brings us so much happiness. Attaching a picture below. On top of it all, she is absolutely gorgeous!

“Hope” all is well there. Please use me as a reference anytime!

Leo is nine months old now and weighs about 25 pounds.  He has been such a blessing and a joy to our family, friends, neighbors, and people we meet in the street or at the malls. Everyone loves him dearly and is amazed by his beauty, his friendly and calm demeanor, and super sweet personality. No matter where Leo goes, he socializes well with all people and dogs—big or small. People have come up to us often to ask for his breeder’s information.

Leo has been therapeutic to the sick, the depressed, and has even helped those who have always been scared of dogs to overcome their fear. My mother-in-law is ninety years old, and Leo visits her every day and lies on her lap for about half an hour, lifting her spirit up. She looks forward to his companionship, his unconditional love and kisses, and talks about him every day. He is much more than what we have ever expected, and we simply cannot ask for more. We have become inseparable with this little fellow, and he is indeed God-sent.

By the way, Leo won a ribbon for “Most Handsome Male” at our local dog show yesterday. Attached is a copy of his latest picture for you. Thank you again for making Leo a part of our life!

Just a follow up regarding Asher. The first picture is from the first day we picked him up on 29 Feb 2014, him today and the last picture is from you at 6 weeks. He will be 8 months old tomorrow. I can’t thank you enough for giving us this little blessing. Your adoption process is excellent. At first I was a little skeptical about how you select the puppy suitable for our living style, only because we’ve had dogs in the past and the process was we picked from the litter and now that I look back we didn’t have a clue what to expect. Your adoption process was almost like adopting a child in regards that we received pictures of the litter, we were sent updates of their growth and then the anticipation of which puppy we were getting. It was great. I’ll never forget the day we came to pick him up and how he just ran to us almost like saying “Mom, Dad you’re here”; and here we are 8 months later, and we couldn’t be more happier. I’ve never loved a dog like this boy. You did an excellent job picking him out for our life style. Thanks so much for allowing us the opportunity to be blessed with your services. SPRING CREEK ROCKS!!!!

Sincerely,

Dear Rochelle,

Just a quick email to let you know how unbelievably thrilled we are with our little Raffia black girl!! She is the most delightful, sweet, precious, funny, playful, loving girl EVER! The last 5 days getting to know her have been like a slice of heaven- just pure delight and endless amazement at how smart and sweet and lovely she is:) I think that you must have done something special, selecting one of the most exceptional of puppies for us; perhaps they were all just as wonderful, but I can’t help but think our Raffia was the cream of the crop!

We will forever have fond memories of this trip to Portland and picking up out precious girl. Thank you for the nice visit and most importantly, thank you for this amazing little creature- she is so beautiful, and like you said, has a great little personality. Everything you described about her has been spot-on and I have recognized what you told me about her in everything she does. You are very perceptive and good at what you do!!

I will send photos if you’ d like; she has grown in just the last 5 days- amazing! She learned how to sit after (I AM NOT KIDDING) 3 tries!! We have moved on to Stay, Come, and today I started Paw Shake, although I may be following sort of an unorthodox order in my dog training… We start with the real trainer next Tuesday- yippee! Raffia seems to love learning new stuff.

This was meant to be a short email but I can’t stop typing. Can you tell how delirious with love I am? Raffia and I have having a snuggle/nap on the couch right now as I type 🙂

Best wishes to you and many many thanks-

Nicole

Hi Rochelle,

Our close friend is a dog trainer and has spent years showing dogs in and around Idaho. She tried to talk us out of buying Cody. I am happy to report she was thoroughly amazed by Cody when she met him this weekend. She couldn’t believe how well behaved and fun he is. She kept saying, “Wow, he’s not nervous at a new house or in this new environment, he listens even with distractions, and he is just a great dog. “ She even said that it was more amazing how well he was doing considering the fact that we are first time dog owners! She said she would spend the money and get a dog like him in a second. I suppose we changed her opinion about Labradoddles!!

The other funny thing is that my husband was bragging this weekend about how well trained Cody is (even though we’ve only spent 3 weeks/training sessions ‘officially’ training him). He’ll sit/stand/laydown/come to hand signals and everybody was thoroughly impressed with his intelligence, they kept doing the hand signals over and over and laughing because they were amazed (of course Cody loved the attention and treats too). He’s such a smart dog, which is fun because he makes us look like really great dog trainers! HA!

Hi, Rochelle…

Just wanted to send you a photo of Tristan the Texan (formerly Red Boy of Aleshia and Gunner’s litter); it’s hard to believe he’s been with us only a year now. We can’t imagine our lives without him! He is sweet, loving, frisky, loyal, snuggly… a wonderful companion. We go everywhere together — including construction sites, as you can see below. 🙂

Thank you so much for breeding and raising such a wonderful dog — and choosing the right puppy for our family. From the time we picked him up at the airport, he’s been a joy. He was beautifully socialized from the beginning (thank you), loves people and dogs, and has been a dream to train. He means the world to us! (And he looks like his mom, doesn’t he?)

Thanks again for enriching our lives with this wonderful boy.

Dear Rochelle,

It has been just over a year since we got Higgins. I have two basic comments.

I have had dogs before him and have known many dogs … Higgins provides just about everything any person or family could want in a dog. He is smart, gentle, happy, playful, intuitive, easy to train, eager to please, and extremely sweet. He is not just these things some of the time, but all of the time. While these may be temperament characteristics common to other Australian Labradoodles, I can’t imagine there are too many dogs of this developing breed quite like him. This would not be possible unless it were for the dogs you breed, and the environment you provide for their first 8 weeks of life.

The second thing I want to say, and this is primarily for those considering adopting a Spring Creek dog, is that you (Rochelle) were terrific for us. You spent a lot of time with my wife and I in determining which dog would be best. You brought considerable knowledge of dogs, the breed, and breeding dogs all to bear on our decision. This gave us a wonderful confidence that we were getting the right dog from the right person. As the case with Higgins, while there are other breeders out there, it is hard to imagine anyone being more helpful or competent for dog buyers like us than you (Rochelle).

Sister & Mabel

Hey Rochelle,

I just wanted to give you a little update on Chianti who we adopted from you this summer. First much to your chagrin, she has been renamed Mabel. I know Mabel is not as elegant a name as Chianti but Peter and I were outvoted by our three girls. In typical Spring Creek Labradoodle style, Chianti has taken her new name in stride. Unexpectedly, we ran into one of Mabel’s litter mates in our own neighborhood. Dixie who was adopted by a family with the last name Arnold. Isn’t that funny? Dixie is a bit bigger, similar hair coloring but a longer snout.

Can I tell you everyone LOVES Mabel even folks who are self described as “not dog people” adore her. She is so mellow, so cute, and still has lots of personality. She gets along with all people and all animals. She even accompanies us on trail rides. Below is a link to a short video clip that Peter made of Mabel with one of our horses Baron. I hope you enjoy it.

I hope you are well. I wanted to give you an update on Ranger (aka Navy Boy). He is amazing.  We love his temperament and everything about him.   Only a week in, he has been almost 100% housebroken and already knows “sit” and “down”. We are working on “stay” now. Smart boy!    Everyone that sees him falls in love. We’ve made sure to educate everyone about his breed’s history and his excellent breeder!  We have even encouraged a few friends that are looking for a puppy to look into doodles.

Thanks so much for such a wonderful addition to our family.

We can’t believe that it is Frisco’s 11th birthday.  I think he was in your first litter, right?

I thought you might like to see a current photo of him.  I also want you to know he is still happy, healthy and has not slowed down a bit.  He still
catches a frisbee like a champ.  He will still run loops around the yard just for fun (or to chase out a cat!). He really has not had any health
problems. He is often mistaken for a “young dog”! And, of course, he still has such a sweet personality.

I just took a look at your puppy page.  They are all too cute!  There will be some lucky families to adopt your wonderful dogs.

Hope all is well with you.  And, thanks again for our most wonderful dog!

Dear Rochelle,

My note to you is long overdue. Linus is one amazing dog. (He was one of Starlet and Legend’s puppies, born June 1.) He is a great member of our family. I have included a few of our many pictures of him (truly, I think there are currently more pictures of Linus than of any of my human children). He goes with us everywhere. School outings are his favorite because he gets so much attention. He also enjoys getting coffee from the little coffee stands that dot the Seattle streets. The baristas always give him extra dog treats because he is so cute. He trained easily and enjoyed puppy classes. He is very smart and learns quickly. He is a natural retriever and always wants to play fetch. He does get excited as all puppies should, but is usually calm and quiet. His biggest issues are: digging in the yard and finding and tearing apart socks (he seems to have a foot fetish). He also has trouble seeing through that furry face, but I bought some thinning scissors and this is now improved. He has the softest most luxurious coat imaginable. Thanks for all your love and effort breeding these beautiful puppies. We all love the newest member of our family.

We are doing well and Ruby (we got tired of explaining Roo so she became Ruby but she answers to either Roo or Ruby) is an absolute treat to have around. She’s been so easy to train and does all her commands exceptionally well like her down stays etc. She’s our greeter at the store and loves to meet people but they’re amazed she’s only 6 months and being so well behaved. We love her to death and she’s turning out to be a perfect dog for us. We get stopped by people every time we’re out with her who want to know all about her. You may be getting a few phone calls. 😉

Isn’t it funny how having an animal come into your life can bring so many wonderful changes though. Pearl has been such a blessing and in some ways, she is like my guardian angel. I feel so fortunate in that Pearl from an incredibly early age began alerting me and it was I that took a while to catch on what she was doing. Long before Pearl ever started her official training, and basically from the day I brought her home, I would have her lay on my chest with her nose near my mouth. She would nap that way, and we would cuddle that way. I believe that she ‘scented’ me right away and really learned quickly the difference between normal and not. Also, I know how your body’s chemistry would change when you’re blood sugars were off. So, if I was wearing an article of clothing when I had a bloodsugar issue, I would use that article as my scenting tool. These were things that she didn’t learn from the program we trained at. She learned skills and behaviors associated with service dog duties and along with the trainer, we came up with ways to add the skills that Pearl seemed to intuitively have to new skills and put it all together.

I feel like none of this would not be if I would have not had Pearl (and you) come into my life. Pearl is more than just a service dog, more than a companion animal….she is my partner. Oh Rochelle, I wish you could see her. She is not only beautiful, she has a calm sweetness to her that just makes you melt. I took her with me to California a couple of weeks ago. My dad has cancer and hasn’t been doing very well. She hasn’t seen my folks for a very long time so I thought she would be a bit shy in their home. When I got there, my dad was laying down in bed. After we came in and gave a hug to mom, I took her off leash and she went immediately back to their bedroom where dad was laying. She looked at me and I nodded and she jumped right in bed with him and quickly laid down next to him with her head on his chest. My mom said it was the first time that dad smiled and laughed for days. For the rest of the week that we were there, Pearl rotated from dad to I, checking in with both of us often. My dad has called me almost every day since then to ask “how his girl is”…….and he doesn’t mean me ! J

I hope you are doing well. It is wonderful to hear from you and I’m so glad that Tammy is working with you. You are a wonderfully responsible breeder and I credit you with being selective and conscientious as you breed your dogs. Pearl’s temperament and personality are a testament to that.

We also wanted to let you know that he is WONDERFUL. Dublin has been just incredible with the kids and is very loving and playful. Both the vet and the groomer have been very complimentary regarding his demeanor and have said repeatedly what a great dog he is. So again, thank you for your attention in finding us the perfect puppy for our family.

Hi Rochelle,

I cannot tell you how often I think of sending you an email with photos of Bosco, and never quite carry it through. Finally, just a

short note to tell you how much our entire family(and everyone else) loves Bosco. He is the sweetest dog a family could have. He adores people, children, dogs. We couldn’t be happier. He is a graduate of a training program (but could possibly use a little post-graduate work). He is my husband’s hiking pal – they go about 2 miles every day in a wonderful park in Los Angeles with hiking trails. He is beautiful and I still don’t have time to sift through the digital library and update you, but my girlfriend has taken some really good shots that I will eventually email to you.

Again, you have provided a most wonderful fifth member of our family, and we thank you.

All the kids in our neighborhood love playing him with him. We couldn’t have asked for a better puppy! Thanks again! Take care!

Lucy & Ozzie

Ozzie woke up this morning and he was one year old!!!! i can hardly believe this. It was just yesterday that I went to the airport to pick up that little furball. The birthday party is this Saturday with his friend Tanner and I have hats!!! Will send the pictures on to you. Nancy is making doggie cake and I am bringing people cake! I just have to tell you one more time what a difference this little boy has made in my life. I worked my &*(()***& off for 28 years, most of it in the laboratory, with late hours and little contact with others that was not on a professional basis. My life is so different now, thanks to Ozzie boy. We have so many new friends

(both people and doggie) and he goes everywhere with me!! Yesterday I took him to Fidelity for my appointment. He did a long down and took a nap under the desk while I conducted my business. Every now and then he would chew a bit on his nylabone or look up to see what was going on. When we left, he shook hands with everybody and we marched out. That boy can go anywhere with me he is so well-behaved. People could not believe that he was a one year old pup. We are moving forward with therapy training. We begin our CGC workshop the end of this month and I am registered for a Delta Society workshop the 22 of May. The evaluation for Ozzie will be about a week later. I hope we can make it through the first time. We are working hard. But there is also play in the agility class, which he really seems to enjoy. Loves the jumps but is not crazy about the tunnel or chute. He also sees his doggie friends on a regular basis.

Thanks to Jilin and Trusty for making such a beautiful and smart little baby boy and thanks to Rochelle and family for seeing

that he got such a good start in life!!! Ozzie says “Woof” to everybody at your house as well and he is very excited about being 1

year old today!!!

Dear Rochelle,

It has been only a week and we all feel that Hoagie has been a part of our family forever. Besides being a brilliant dog, his disposition is calm, friendly and just perfect for our family. Today he attended Evan’s football game and made at least 30 friends that included high school students, parents and big adult retrievers. He is crate-savvy, nearly housetrained and already loves riding in the car.

I feel so fortunate to have found your website and gotten such a great feeling from it.

Sincerely,

I hope this finds you well!

Hi Rochelle,

WE are having lots of fun with Pepper! We’ve almost finished our first puppy obedience, and he can sit, stand, down, leave it, and walk beside me even without a lead! He’s a sweet and smart dog who attracts lots of attention whenever I take him out! Our local library gave me permission to bring him in and there are always lots of kids and grownups who are happy to give him a treat (and I require that he sit or down for them first, even the toddlers!).

Hope you’re doing well. I still enjoy checking out your site and looking at the new pups!

Everything is going great with little Ollie (Cherish’s Green boy) in Denver. He’s a very smart little guy and is learning well. When I get home I will send you some updated pics!

We are in CA right now with my mother-in-law. We actually purchased Ollie from you because we needed a non-allergic dog for when my mother-in-law visits since she is very allergic. She hasn’t had any issues with Ollie! She is so excited about him, that she would like to get a puppy herself.

Thanks so much and thanks for our little Ollie:) We get compliments on how cute he is all the time!

Attached are a couple of pics of Fenway at 17 1/2 weeks. He is 26 lbs. and a ton of love. He went for his first grooming session today so I snapped a couple of pics for you. I hope you enjoy, and feel free to use any of them on your site if he shows the qualities you are interested in showing off. He is the most well behaved special little guy. Everyone that meets him has fallen in love with his gentle sweet loving nature. He is the star of obedience class and well on his way to becoming a therapy dog.

Hi Rochelle,

I just wanted to give you a little update on Chloe and send a few new pics. I can’t believe she’ll be 6mo tomorrow.

Chloe is doing great; in fact she graduated Puppy Kindergarten last week. There happened to be another labradoodle in our class; she was from Sutter Buttes. Chloe is doing so well at mastering all her commands and will do just about anything for a treat 🙂 She’s extremely smart and loveable, but is also very full of energy and keeps us entertained with her funny quirks and silly antics.

As you can see from the pics she hasn’t had a haircut yet. I know she needs one, but I’m a little aprehensive about having it done. I don’t want her coming back looking like a poodle 🙂 Hopefully you can see her pretty, wavy coat in the pics. They really don’t do her justice! We continue to get tons of compliments on her wherever we take her.

Thanks again for such a great puppy!

Rochelle,

We are doing great. Molly already knows sit, stay, and come, she is crate trained, knows to potty outside (just doesn’t know how to tell us yet), bites infrequently and lightly, leash trained to walk by my side, sleeps through the night and at 4 am and a potty break joins us for a couple of hours in our bed (which she really looks forward to). She respects me as the alpha in the family and is extremely smart…blows me away how intelligent she is. We absolutely adore her.

Well Rochelle thanks again…we love our little miss a lot.

Hi Rochelle,

We adopted a puppy from the Sonoma/Legend litter, and just wanted to take the time to thank you for our little boy! He is so smart and so cute. He potty trained very quickly, learned all sorts of tricks and impresses everyone he meets! He has captured the hearts of our neighbors, his daycare “teacher”, and my parents even babysit him one day a week! He’s quirky and funny, and we just can’t imagine life without him.

In July, we lost our other dog, Heidi to a congestive heart failure. Having such a wonderful dog has made such a sad situation bearable. Thanks again for providing us with such an amazing dog!!
